The Laboratory

I am one of those writers who needs a situated work space to get down to business. Having a spot I can call my own is of the utmost importance. Seeing all of my books and notebooks in one space motivates me to take a seat and pick up the pen again and again. I’m not one of those people who can write on the sofa or the bed, because, I’ll admit, the video games call to me. But when I have a desk and all my writing materials are in front of me my book is the only thing that matters.

My girlfriend and I built this yesterday. We got all of the materials from Home Depot for less than sixty bucks and it was tons of fun. I’ve been without a desk for a few months now and it’s been torture! No more writing on the sofa! The sun is out and it’s a beautiful day to get some work done.

About Connor Wilkins

Quickly, quickly... take your seat. Our storyteller is about to begin. Shhhh. Listen... His pipes are fluting emotions of myth and fable, but don't be fooled by fantasia for there are truths hidden within his unworldly tellings. We're drifting now... back in time to a world only he remembers.

Somehow, it always seems that the writing platform influences the writing . . .

    • Without a doubt. Having a creative space really nurtures the output and the time I dedicate towards writing. I write by hand for the same reasons… There is a more cohesive connection from my brain to hand, which is why I prefer the pen over a keyboard.
Thanks for reading! I really appreciate the feedback.
